Adding an Outcome Payment Rule Template (TAS)

Adding an Outcome Payment Rule Template (TAS)

Overview

To create your Contract in the SMS, you would need to create an Outcome Payment Rule template.

The Outcome Payment Rule Template defines the payments that are made to training providers based on the achievement of specified outcomes by students.

Refer to your contract with your State Training Authority for the details of the Outcome Payment Rule.

Your SMS comes pre-loaded with some of the templates used for creating funding contracts. Please make sure to review the templates before using. Make changes to the templates as necessary or create new ones as needed.

For this tutorial, we will be using this table as reference for creating the template based on Tasmania contracts.

Step Tutorial

Step 1. To create the template, go to Finance then click Contracts. Go to Outcome Payment Rule Templates. Click New to add an Outcome Payment Rule template.

Step 2. In the New Outcome Payment Rule window, complete the information in each field.

  1. Set a Name for your Outcome Payment Rule template.
  2. Select the specific State for your template. In this tutorial select TAS.

Step 3. Complete the fields in the Outcome payment rule template window.

  1. Set an outcome payment for the first unit of competency from the drop-down field.
  2. Enter the percentage of total in numbers.
Based on the table provided above, TAS government pays a cumulative of 100% of the subsidy for Unit of Competency with an outcome code of 20 - Competency Achieved/Pass.

Step 4. Repeat the same steps to set an outcome payment for the rest of the unit outcome codes.

For Outcome codes that receives no payment, select Do Not Pay in the drop down field.

If you do not need to report a certain outcome code to your State Training Authority, you can opt to exclude the unit outcome from the report by ticking Exclude from Report. Otherwise leave untick.

Step 5. Click Save.

You have now created your Outcome Payment Rule Template. You can check all your created templates in the table.

There are different actions available in the data table.
  1. Search for a specific template using the search filter box
  2. Click on the column headers for the up or down arrow heads to appear. Use this to sort the template name or the state name in ascending or descending order.
  3. Click on the Action button to Edit or Delete the template.
Be careful when editing or deleting an existing template as there might be existing and active contracts using the template.
