How to Automatically Enroll Students in an LMS Course After Paying an Invoice

OVERVIEW

In this tutorial, we will show users how restrict student access to an LMS Course until an invoice has been paid. In the program instance financial tab, you can select the unit or units that student can have access to in the LMS once a certain invoice has been paid. This feature helps manage and limit LMS course access based on invoice payment triggers.

Note: A Payment Plan MUST be set up prior as it is a condition that must be met before enrolling students in an LMS Course.

Step Tutorial

1. Click Programs from the side menu.
2. Go to Program Instances tab and select your program instance.
3. Navigate to the Financial tab.

Refer to the image below for Steps 1-3

4. Scroll all the way down to the Payment Plan section, select the Payment Plan and click the Expand icon  to display the payment plan rules.
5. Click the Unit icon  beside the payment plan rule that MUST be paid prior to enrolling the student unit to the LMS course.
6. Select the unit from the drop-down list. You can add as many units as needed.
7. Click Save to add the unit or units. In our example, the upfront payment of $1500 must be paid before students can be enrolled to BSBCMM142 in the LMS.
Once an invoice instalment is marked as paid, the student will be enrolled in the set LMS course.

Refer to the image below for Steps 4-7

IMPORTANT
  1. The Program Instance Units MUST be integrated to the LMS Courses in the Program Instance Unit tab.
  2. This feature ONLY works for a Program Instance that has multiple Payment Plan Rules. If there is only one rule (e.g. upfront payment), this feature will be unavailable.
