The People Page Credentials Tab has been enhanced with a new Authorisation Badge field that displays next to the Trainer Role dropdown. This badge automatically shows the authorisation level associated with the selected Trainer Role, providing clearer visibility and improved classification of trainer authorisation levels at a glance.
The Authorisation Badge uses colour-coding to help you quickly identify whether a trainer's role is Unsupervised, Under Direction, or Supervisor, making it easier to understand and manage trainer credentials in your organisation.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through understanding the Authorisation Badge and how to interpret the different authorisation levels.
Understanding the Authorisation Badge System
The Authorisation Badge is a label that automatically updates based on the Trainer Role you select. You cannot manually edit this badge—it displays the authorisation level that matches your role selection.
How the Badge Works:
You select a Trainer Role from the dropdown (e.g., "1A - Delivers Training and Assessment")
The system automatically generates an Authorisation Badge based on that role
The badge displays a colour-coded label showing the authorisation level (Unsupervised, Under Direction, or Supervisor)
Colour-Coding System:
The Authorisation Badge uses three distinct colours to categorise authorisation levels:
1. Navigate to the People Page - From the sidebar menu, navigate to People page.
2. Select a Person and Open the Credentials Tab - Find and click on the person whose credentials you want to view. On their person record, navigate to the Credentials tab.
3. Locate the Trainer Role Dropdown and Authorisation Badge - In the Credentials tab, find the Trainer Role dropdown field. Directly beside this dropdown (to the right), you will see the Authorisation Badge field.
4. Select a Trainer Role - Click on the Trainer Role dropdown and select the appropriate role for this trainer.
The options include:
Standard Trainer Roles (Non-TAE):
1A - Delivers Training and Assessment (Unsupervised)
1B - Conducts Assessment Only (Unsupervised)
1C - Actively Working Towards a Credential (Under Direction)
1D - Delivers Training and/or Contributes to Assessment (Under Direction)
1E - Providing Direction on the Delivery of Training and Assessment (Supervisor)
TAE Trainer Roles:
2A - Delivery of TAE Training and Assessment (TAE Unsupervised)
2B - Delivery of TAE Training and Assessment (Under Direction) (TAE Under Direction)
2C - Providing Direction on the Delivery of TAE Training and Assessment (TAE Supervisor)
Understand Your Authorisation Level
Use this reference to understand what your selected role means:
Trainer Role: 1A - Delivers Training and Assessment
Trainer Role: 1B - Conducts Assessment Only
Trainer Role: 2A - Delivery of TAE Training and Assessment
Meaning: The trainer can deliver training and/or conduct assessments independently without requiring direction or supervision from others.
Trainer Role: 1C - Actively Working Towards a Credential
Trainer Role: 1D - Delivers Training and/or Contributes to Assessment
Trainer Role: 2B - Delivery of TAE Training and Assessment (Under Direction)
Meaning: The trainer works under the guidance, direction, or supervision of another qualified trainer or supervisor.
And that's how to change and understand Trainer Authorisation Badges on the Credentials Tab!
