How to Create a Concessions for Contracts (WA)
Overview
Creating a concession for contracts in a student management system involves granting students special considerations, such as fee reductions, due to specific circumstances. This process is typically governed by predefined state regulations and ensures that the concession is properly recorded in the system for auditing and compliance purposes.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of creating concessions for Western Australia (WA) in your Student Management System.
This document will serve as a reference throughout the process.
Steps Tutorial
1. From the dashboard, go to Finance > Contracts > Concessions > then click New.
2. Fill in the following:
- State – Select the appropriate state. For this tutorial, we will select WA.
- Type – There are two concession types in the system, Waivers and Concession.
- Waivers refers to a complete or partial exemption from paying tuition fees for a VET course.
- Concession refers to a reduced fee that is offered to eligible students who are enrolled in VET courses.
We will select Concession for this tutorial.
- Name - For this tutorial, we will be using the first category under concession student
- Category – There are two categories available: Rate and Discount. Rate refers to the concession amount the student will pay. Discount refers to the amount to be deducted from the regular fees, after which the remaining will be the concession amount.
We will select Rate for this tutorial.
- Description – Enter a description for the concession.
- Concession Amount - Type the corresponding fee rate per nominal hour for this category.
- Fee Exemption/Concession ID – Select the applicable concession IDs for this concession. You can select multiple options by clicking on each item.
Once done, click Save.
NOTE:
- You can search for the concessions or waivers you've created by clicking on the Search Concessions bar. This will filter all entries that match your search query.
- You can also edit or delete an existing concession by clicking on the Action button.
That's it! You've successfully created a concession for contracts for the state of Western Australia (WA)!
