Overview
Notifications in the Student Management System (SMS) typically
involve setting up alerts or messages to inform users about important events,
updates, deadlines, or other relevant information. These notifications ensure
that users stay informed and can take timely action, thereby improving
engagement, compliance, and overall system efficiency.
In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to create and
edit these notifications.
Step Tutorial
1. From the sidebar menu, click Administration then Notifications.
2. The Notifications page displays all notifications
that have been created. To create a new notification, click the New button.
3. In the Notification modal, fill out the following
fields:
- Description – Enter the description for
the notification.
- Start Date – Choose the start date from
the date picker. This is the date when the notification will become available.
- End Date – Choose the end date from the
date picker. This is the date when the notification will no longer be available.
- All Roles – Enable the toggle if the
notification should be visible to all roles available in the system. Please note
that enabling this toggle will disable (grey out) the Specific Roles field.
- Specific Roles – Select the role(s) for which
the notification will be available.
- Status – Choose either Draft or Published.
The notification will only be visible to the selected roles if is published.
Once done, click Save.
NOTE:
- Published notifications can be viewed under the user’s Profile > Notifications tab. This tab will NOT be visible if no notifications
are available for the user.
4. To edit or delete an existing notification, click the Action button for that notification. Then, click Edit to modify the fields and Delete to remove the notification.
And that’s how to create and edit notifications in the
SMS!
