How to Create Concession for Contracts (TAS)

Overview
In the VET (Vocational Education and Training) sector, concessions refer to special discounts or arrangements available to certain groups of students to help them access vocational education and training programs.

These concessions may include reduced course fees, exemptions from certain fees or charges, or access to government funding or assistance.

In this tutorial, we will be creating a Concession for Contracts in the SMS for TAS.

Step Tutorial
1. From the Dashboard, go to Finance, then Contracts, then Concessions, and click the New button.


2. Fill in the required information:
Option 1 - For Waiver
  1. State – Identify the State from the dropdown field. Select TAS.
  2. Active – Toggle this on to enable the concession for use.
  3. Type – Select the Type from the dropdown field. There are two options: Waiver and Concession. A Waiver is a full exemption from student fees, while a Concession is the reduced amount that the student pays. For this part, select Waiver. Once Waiver is selected, the Category and Concession amount will automatically be set to Discount and 100%.
  4. Name – Enter a Name for your concession discount.
  5. Description – Enter a Description for your concession discount.
Once done, click the Save button.


Option 2 - For Concession (Rate)
  1. State – Identify the State from the dropdown field. Select TAS.
  2. Active – Toggle this on to enable the concession for use.
  3. Type – Select the Type from the dropdown field. There are two options: Waiver and Concession. A Waiver is a full exemption from student fees, while a Concession is the reduced amount that the student pays. For this part, select Concession.
  4. Name – Enter a Name for your concession discount.
  5. Category – Select a category from the dropdown. You can choose either Rate or Discount. Rate refers to the concession amount that the student pays. Select Rate.
  6. Description – Enter a Description for your concession discount.
  7. Concession Amount – Enter the amount that the student will pay as the concession amount.
Once done, click the Save button.


Option 3 - For Concession (Discount)
  1. State – Identify the State from the dropdown field. Select TAS.
  2. Active – Toggle this on to enable the concession for use.
  3. Type – Select the Type from the dropdown field. There are two options: Waiver and Concession. A Waiver is a full exemption from student fees, while a Concession is the reduced amount that the student pays. For this part, select Concession.
  4. Name – Enter a Name for your concession discount.
  5. Category – Select a category from the dropdown. You can choose either Rate or Discount. Rate refers to the concession amount that the student pays. Select Discount.
  6. Description – Enter a Description for your concession discount.
  7. Concession Amount – You can choose whether the discount is applied as a fixed dollar value or as a percentage of the fees.
Once done, click the Save button.


3. A prompt confirming the successful creation of the concession will appear. Click the OK button to close it.
