In Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) industry, “loadings” refer to additional funding provided to training providers for delivering training and support to students who may face barriers to successfully completing their studies. These loadings are designed to improve access to quality training and provide additional assistance to learners who require extra support throughout their educational journey.
In South Australia, loadings are commonly applied through state-funded training arrangements and may support identified priority learner groups.
The availability and application of loadings in South Australia are generally determined by the relevant State Training Authority funding contract, program guidelines, and student eligibility requirements. Funding amounts and applicable loading categories may vary depending on the qualification, funding initiative, and the specific support needs of the learner.
These loadings assist Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in providing additional learner support services and help promote equitable access, participation, and successful training outcomes across the South Australian VET sector.
NOTE: Refer to your State Training Authority for a full list of all available loadings and their percentages whenever creating your Loadings template.
