How to Create Needs or Location Loadings for Contracts (VIC)
Overview
In the Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia, "loadings" refer to additional funding provided to training providers for delivering training to specific groups of students who require additional support to succeed in their studies. These loadings are designed to assist students who may face barriers to completing their training, such as students with disabilities, students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and students from regional or remote areas.
Loadings are a form of targeted funding, and they are intended to help ensure that all students have access to quality vocational education and training, regardless of their individual circumstances. The specific loadings available may vary depending on the state or territory where the training is being delivered, and the type of qualification being pursued.
NOTE: Refer to your State Training Authority for a full list of all available loadings and their percentages whenever creating your Loadings template.
For Victoria, Loadings are paid in addition to Contact hour funds and apply to both Subsidy and RPL subsidy payments. If more than one of the loading types apply, the loadings will be applied cumulatively. For example, if the conditions for both the Indigenous Loading and the Regional Loading are met, the hourly rate would be increased by 50%, and then that increased rate would be increased by a further 10%.
We will be referring to the Loadings list below:
Step Tutorial
1. To create your Loadings template, go to Finance > Contracts > Loadings.
2. Click New.
3. In the New Loading window, click on TYPE. Then select the Loading type from the drop-down list. We will be creating a Location type loadings based on the list above.
NOTE: Loadings can be Needs or Location. Make sure to select the correct Loading type when creating your Loading template.
4. Type a Name and description for the loading. We will be using REGIONAL LOCATION loading for this example.
5. Select
the State where this loading will be applicable. Select VIC in the drop-down.
6. Enter the Loading
percentage amount in the text box.
7. Click Save to save your progress.
8. Add
more additional loadings by following the same steps above. You can check all
the created loadings in the Loadings data table. You can edit a loading by
