A Statement of Attainment in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) industry is an official document that recognises the completion of one or more accredited units, but not a full qualification. It serves as evidence that an individual has achieved specific competencies or subjects within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). The Statement of Attainment is important as it allows individuals to receive recognition for partial completion of a course, which can be used for employment, further study, or licensing purposes.
This tutorial will guide users on how to issue a Statement of Attainment to a student.
1. From the Dashboard, go to the Students tab, locate and select the student from the dropdown, then go to the Enrolments tab.
2. Look for the specific enrolment to which you would like to issue a Statement of Attainment, click on the Action button relating to it, then click Certificates.
NOTES:
- Statement of Attainment will only be available if at least one unit under the enrolment has been completed.
- Only units that are part of Nationally Recognised Training (VET flag = Yes) will be available in the Statement of Attainment.
3. A modal will appear, allowing you to select Statement of Attainment. From here, you have three options to proceed:
- Download – This will download the SOA document directly to your computer. This option is suitable if you prefer to provide the SOA to the student in person, as it allows you to keep a copy and print a hard copy if required. Please note that this option does not send a digital copy of the document to the student and does not register as an issued document to the student. If you would like the alternative option, use the Email function.
- Email – This option allows you to send a copy of the SOA document directly to the student. This is beneficial for remote students, as it ensures efficient and timely delivery via email.
- Preview – This option allows you to download a copy of the SOA to your computer for review, enabling you to check that all details are correct or make any necessary adjustments.
Choose the option that is most appropriate for your situation.
4. This is only applicable to emailed Statements of Attainment. The SMS will register the document under the Certificates tab in the student’s profile, showing a record of when and by whom the document was issued. For downloaded and previewed Statement of Attainment documents, these will not appear in this list.
The above are the steps on how to issue a Statement of Attainment in the SMS.
