How to Set a Prerequisite Unit at the Program Instance Level

How to Set a Prerequisite Unit at the Program Instance Level

Idea
Overview
In this tutorial, we will discuss how to set a condition at the Program Instance level where another Program Instance unit must be completed before students can access the LMS course of a Program Instance unit. By enabling this setting, it becomes mandatory for students to finish one unit before they can move on to the next LMS course. This approach ensures that students maintain their focus on completing units that align with their training plan. It is particularly beneficial in situations where specific subjects need to be taken and completed in a predetermined sequence.

Notes
Step Tutorial
1. From the sidebar menu, go to Programs > Program Instances > select the Program Instance that we want to set a prerequisite unit > then click Units tab.

2. Identify the unit that must have a prerequisite unit. Click the Action button, then select Edit
In this example, BSBCRT412 has a prerequisite unit.

3. In the Only Enrol After Unit field, select the unit that students must complete before accessing the unit that we are updating. Click the Update button to save the changes.

InfoNOTE: Students will only be enrolled in the LMS course upon completion of the prerequisite unit.

Warning
IMPORTANT:
  1. The Program Instance units must be integrated with the LMS courses in the Program Instance Unit tab.
  2. In the student enrolment wizard, we can force enrol a student unit into the LMS regardless of the trigger or condition set at the Program Instance Unit level.

And that is how to set a prerequisite unit at the program instance level.
