Overview
Newsletters are an invaluable tool for educational institutions, allowing them to disseminate important information, updates, and announcements efficiently to students. It's equally crucial to respect recipients' preferences and provide them with the option to unsubscribe if they no longer wish to receive these communications.

Step Tutorial
Step 1. Go to Templates > Email Templates tab and select "Newsletter" from the templates dropdown.
Step 2. Create your Newsletter template by adding your Email Name for easy identification and the email subject. Format your Newsletter using the HTML editor and add dynamic tags for personalisation. Images can also be added in the template to make your newsletter more engaging.
Step 3. Save your Newsletter.
Adding an Unsubscribe button to your Newsletter
To ensure compliance with data protection and data privacy, you may include an Unsubscribe option to your newsletter template. To add the Unsubscribe button, go to Dynamic tags and add the "Unsubscribe" tag.
Sending Newsletters
Newsletters type emails can only be sent to students from the following email functions in the SMS:
- Reports > Enrolment Report > Select Student > Send email
- Schedule > Student Groups/Intakes > Students > Select Students > Email Students
- Automations > Set Email Template (Applicable only for "Student" recipient type) - Available only in the Maximise Package.
To send the newsletter, select your students and then click the "Send Email" option. Select the Newsletter from the Custom templates dropdown. Click send to send to the selected students.
How to Unsubscribe
When a Newsletter with an Unsubscribe option is received, the email will contain a link where students can choose to unsubscribe.
When students click on this Unsubscribe link, they are redirected to a page that allows them to unsubscribe without requiring their login.
Additionally, students also have the option to login to their student portal and from there select the "Unsubscribe from Newsletter" option. This toggle will allow your students to manage their newsletter subscriptions easily.
Once unsubscribed, student will no longer receive Newsletter type emails.
