This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions on how to reset a password and send a set password link to staff/users in the Student Management System (SMS).
This process ensures secure account recovery and helps administrators assist staff and users who are unable to log in. This guide is useful for efficiently managing account access while maintaining system security.
1. From the Dashboard, go to People, search for and select the user from the drop-down menu, then navigate to the General tab.
2. Scroll down a bit and look for either Reset System Password or Send Set Password Link.
Once either of the two options is clicked, the corresponding modal will appear.
In the Reset System Password modal, enter the new password for the user twice (the second entry is for confirmation) and click Submit.
A notification message will appear confirming that the password has been successfully changed. Click OK to close it.
In the Send Set Password Link modal, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK to confirm.
A notification message will then confirm that the password set link has been sent. Click OK to close it.
An email containing the Set Password link will be sent to the user’s email address. The link will direct the user to the Reset Password page.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that a
Send Password Reset Link type email template is available in the SMS. This template is used when the Send Set Password Link action is triggered for a user. You may visit this tutorial to learn more:
