How to Reset Password and Send Set Password Link for a Student

This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions on how to reset a password and send a set password link for a Student in the Student Management System (SMS).
The process ensures secure access recovery and helps administrators support users who are unable to log in. This guide is useful for managing account access efficiently and maintaining system security.
Step Tutorial
1. From the Dashboard, go to Students, search for and select the student from the drop-down menu, then navigate to the Details tab.
2. Scroll down a bit and look for either Reset System Password or Send Set Password Link.
Once either of the two options is clicked, the corresponding modal will appear.
Reset System Password
In the Reset System Password modal, enter the new password for the student twice (the second entry is for confirmation) and click Submit.
A notification message will appear confirming that the password has been successfully changed. Click OK to close it.
Send Set Password Link
In the Send Set Password Link modal, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK to confirm.
A notification message will then confirm that the password set link has been sent. Click OK to close it.
An email containing the Set Password link will be sent to the student’s email address. The link will direct the student to the Reset Password page.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that a Send Password Reset Link type email template is available in the SMS. This template is used when the Send Set Password Link action is triggered for a student. You may visit this tutorial to learn more: How to Create or Edit Email Templates
